Cups developed for viscosity measurements
- Published: March 01, 1995
A set of Shell cups are designed for use in the laboratory or for calibrating process viscosity-control equipment. The cups were developed to optimize the precision of viscosity measurements made by measuring the time required for fluid to drain through an orifice of known dimensions from a cup of fixed volume. Three different sizes are available to cover most commonly encountered viscosity ranges for process control. A digital stop watch, a chart for converting Shell cup seconds to centipoise and other viscosity traits, two plastic beakers, and a carrying ease are included.
