CHICAGO, IL | Colbert Packaging Corp., a 50-year-old leading manufacturer of folding cartons, rigid paper boxes, and paperboard specialty products, has completed the acquisitions of two carton manufacturers, Dayton Carton in Louisville, KY, and Crown Paper Box in Indianapolis, IN.
The acquisition of Dayton Carton is all-inclusive of its facility, equipment, inventory, employees, customer accounts, and all other assets. While Colbert Packaging will retain the Dayton Carton facility in Louisville, it will rebrand it as one of its own.
The Crown Paper Box acquisition includes customer accounts, inventory, and account managers. Customers formerly serviced out of Crown’s Indianapolis facility are now being served though Colbert’s facilities in Lake Forest, IL, Elkhart, IN, and the newly acquired Louisville plant.
“It is an honor to welcome customers and employees of Dayton Carton and Crown Paper Box into the Colbert family,” said Jim Hamilton, president of Colbert Packaging. “These acquisitions are firmly rooted in our strategic vision and continued growth, and we are pleased to be able to provide additional service and capacity to Crown and Dayton customers, as well as to Colbert’s existing regional and national customers through the Louisville operation. At the same time, we are excited to be able to offer Dayton and Crown customers our diversified packaging portfolio, the full breadth of our expertise, and the quality and service commitments of our entire team.”
Through innovation and expansion, Colbert’s portfolio now also includes paperboard specialty products, flexographic printed packaging, tamper-proof patented blister packaging, sustainable packaging, security solutions, pressure-sensitive roll labels, and a growing line of market-specific packaging products. The full range of Colbert Packaging’s capabilities and services are available to Dayton and Crown customers.
