PCMC Launches New Narrow Web Press

GREEN BAY, WI, USA—PC Inline Systems, a division of Paper Converting Machine Co. (PCMC), introduced the Webtron X-10 at its Open House & Technical Symposium held February 26–27, 2002.

The Webtron X-10, a 10 in., 8-color flexographic label and tag printing and die-cutting press, is an upgrade to the co.’s popular 7 1/2 in. Webtron 750 HQV. PCMC reports the X-10 will feature easy loading and unloading of rolls from the operator side of the press; controlled tension infeed systems, allowing for more precise registration; a cantilever design of the print station for easy web thread-up and changeover; a six to 18-in. repeat range; a multi-function die-cutting station for die-cutting, creasing, and perfing; a waste rewind with web break detection; and quick-change anilox system. Another benefit of the X-10 is said to be its hot air dryer system, which will feature a custom-designed hood for progressive air flow. The company claims the Webtron X-10 will provide the shortest web path in the industry.

The Webtron X-10 is an addition to the PC Inline System’s line of presses and will not replace the Webtron 750. For existing customers of the Webtron 750, the X-10 will be commercially available in July and will allow operation using all Webtron 750 tooling.
