AIMCAL Elects New Officers, Changes Name to AIMCAL

LA JOLLA, CA | Today at the management meeting of the Assn. of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters & Laminators, held at the Hilton  La Jolla Torrey Pines, a new slate officers was elected along with new Board of Directors. Most significant of all, members changed the official name of the organization (adopted in 1970) to the Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters & Laminators. The name change will be effective as of Jan. 1, 2011, and is expected to expand the organization's global reach.

As the organization celebrates its 40th anniversary, it also made some history today with a vote to elect its first woman as president. Liz Josephson of Applied Materials Corp. now weilds the gavel with Michael Engel of FLEXcon Co. becoming the immediate past president. Robert Connelly of Madico is VP; Dan Bemi of MEGTEC Systems is treasurer. Directors at large are David Bryant of Vacuum Depositng; Mark Montsinger of Bryce Corp.; Gary Phillips of Bekaert Specialty Films; Danis Roy of Terphane Inc.; Ron Schmidt of Maxcess Intl.; and Steve Sedlak of ESK Ceramics.
