HAMBURG, GERMANY | Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BILT), part of India’s Avantha Group, has commissioned the country's largest-ever cut-size line. The German/US-made cut-size sheeting and packaging line installed at the Sewa mill in Orissa is now the widest in the Indian paper industry. It is able to produce sheets in A4 and A3.
The 10-pocket cut-size line was manufactured by E.C.H. Will and Pemco, two companies of the Körber PaperLink (KPL) Group. It is the third cut-size paper line BILT has acquired from the two KPL companies. The line consists of a SLK 490 10-pocket cut-size sheeter with five shaftless unwind stands from E.C.H. Will and an inline packaging line from Pemco. The packaging line includes a Model 33 ream wrapper—using Pemco’s latest packaging technology—a Model 124 ream inspector, a Model 137 stacker/accumulator and a Model 162 case packer/lidder.
