FAIRFAX, VA | The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) is now accepting entries for the 2010 Student Screen Printing and Digital Imaging Awards Competition. In its fifth year, the competition honors excellent student work in the specialty imaging field.
“This is the premiere imaging competition for graphic arts students and is a great way for them to earn international recognition and boost their resume,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s VP of technical services.
Sponsored by SGIA, the ASPT student award competition is open to all secondary and post-secondary schools holding a membership with SGIA, FESPA or ASGA. Eligible samples must be produced during the 2009–2010 school year and must be submitted to SGIA headquarters no later than July 16, 2010.
Students are encouraged to enter multiple entries in any of the 24 categories. Winners receive an ASPT Student Achievement Award certificate. Additionally, one first-place winner from each level (secondary and post-secondary) has the opportunity to be named Best of Show and will receive special recognition and a monetary prize to use toward their graphic arts education. Schools also will receive a monetary prize to use toward the graphic arts educational program.
Winning artwork will be showcased at SGIA's Golden Image Gallery during the 2010 SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, October 13–15. For complete information, download the competition rules/procedures and entry form from the ASPT website.
