Economical Roll Salvaging Rewinding
Accraply (Booth # C-500) will highlight equipment from its Stanford line of Doctor Machines, slitter rewinders, and shrink sleeve finishing equipment. Developed for the label converting industry, the Doctor Machines family provides an economical means of roll salvage rewinding. Designed to edit rolls of material due to defective printing, mill splices, telescoped and unevenly tensioned rolls the systems reach operating speeds up to 2500 fpm (762 mpm). Capable of single direction and reversible winding, Doctor Machines accommodate roll diameters from 24 in. (609.6 mm) to 50 in. (1270 mm) and handles web widths from 10 in. (254 mm) to 80 in. (2032 mm).
Boxmaker Answers Demand for Short Runs
Autobox Machinery Ltd.’s (Booth # C-3105) HIPAK boxmaker provides the flexibility needed to produce short to medium runs of 'Just-In-Time' corrugated boxes. With a set-up time of only a few seconds, boxes of virtually any size can be made quickly and easily - from pallet boxes and big wraps to small, regular boxes.
The onboard PC and touch-screen with simple, easy to use menu-driven electronics, has a memory facility for storing regular orders, making change over from one batch order to another even quicker and easier. The HIPAK also slots and creases in one quick, easy pass.
Flexible Packaging & Laminating
The new DS Extrusion Coating Line from Davis-Standard (Booth # S-5748) allows converters to produce high quality flexible packaging, thermal lamination, stand-up pouches, lidding, tube and aseptic films. The line is available in three models to match customer’s market requirements and line speeds. The 300 is engineered for customers who desire to enter new markets or grow their business with a modest investment. The 450 provides greater output and automation, while the 750 offers the fastest line speeds and most options for large-scale production applications.
Single Web Pouch Machinery Offers Greater Efficiency, Uses Less Scrap
The 750 Servo Pouch Machine from Hudson-Sharp Machine Co. (Booth # S-5649) uses a single web of film to produce two-up, stand-up resealable pouches. Single web pouch production uses less scrap than multiple web machines and produces greater efficiency with faster changeover and excellent print registration.
Possible pouch styles include stand-up pouches, side gusset bottom seal and three side seal. The system’s modular design also allows custom configuration of a wide variety of applications, including extra large sized pouches.
Label Insertion Line for RFID Inlays
The Mühlbauer (Booth # S-5246) RFID label insertion line IL 15000 is designed for fully automatic conversion of pre-produced self-adhesive labels into RFID labels. Simple process flow, easy machine operation, small footprint and a maximum throughput of up to 60 mph ensure high productivity and minimum production costs.
Low Maintenance Hot Air Bag Sealer
The Supersealer SS2 Hot Air Bag Sealer from OK Intl. (Booth # C-451) utilizes hot air to continuously seal a wide range of bag materials at high speed and efficiency. The system’s advanced airflow, sophisticated controls, and stainless construction ensures continuous uptime performance in all applications. The Bag Sealer runs up to 120 fpm and seals materials up to 40 mils.
Clear, High Barrier Laminates
Rollprint Packaging Products (Booth # S-5510) will feature its new family of ClearFoil composites, which offer high moisture vapor and oxygen barrier without the use of aluminum foil. The barrier-coated films can be used for rollstock applications and can be converted into pouches. The materials can also be made peelable with the addition of a peelable sealant layer. Several barrier levels are available to meet various performance and cost requirements.
Protect Brands from Recalls, Meet Track & Trace Regulations
IMprints For Converters from Videojet Technologies Inc. (Booth # C-1807) is claimed the first complete coding and verification solution for the converter industry. Designed to address track-and-trace needs in the food and pharmaceutical supply chains, IMprints For Converters offers in-line and off-line solutions to achieve mass serialization at high speeds.
For food applications, it can be used for enhanced traceability, providing unique codes for each item with potential parent-child relationships at multiple packaging levels. The machinery also allows, for example, brand owners to institute on-pack brand loyalty promotions providing unique codes that can be redeemed at websites for prizes.
