Dow Unveils Versify* Plastomers and Elastomers; New Technology to Generate Unique Performance for Flex-Pack Converters

HORGEN, SWITZERLAND—Dow says "revolutionary" catalyst technology is at the heart of its newly unveiled Versify* plastomers and elastomers. According to the material manufacturer, Versify is a new range of propylene-ethylene copolymers designed to improve optics, sealing and hot tack performance, elasticity, flexibility, and softness for both rigid and flexible packaging producers, manufacturers of thermoplastic elastomers and olefins, and converters in the consumer products sector.

Dow says its new catalysts will be combined with its Insite* technology and solution process "to offer a highly versatile family of olefinic polymers that offer a unique balance of performance combinations for producers of films, fibers, and molded parts." The manufacturer adds the new product range offers customers the possibility of new application areas due to the products' compatability and processability with other polymers.

Says Romeo Kreinberg, Dow's sr. VP of plastics, "Versify polymers and elastomers provider further proof of our commitment to innovation and to delivering winning solutions to fill market gaps and meet our customers' needs. We've combined the company's strength in catalyst and process technology, material and polymer science, as well as fabrication and market expertise, in order to help our customers go beyond what's been possible in the past. We now are really looking forwad to seeing how far we and our customers can take the range in the future."
