Hotels Lower Rates For NPE2009

WASHINGTON, DC | Fifty -nine percent of the 66 hotels on the official housing list for NPE2009, have lowered their rates for visitors by an average of 14%, it was announced today by SPI, The Plastics Industry Trade Assn., producer of the triennial NPE. NPE2009 will take place June 22—26 at Chicago’s McCormick Pl.

The discounts applies retroactively to those who have already made their reservations as well as to those who have not yet booked reservations. The deadline for advance reservations is May 14. The rate reductions were negotiated on a hotel-by-hotel basis, at the behest of SPI, by Expovision, official housing contractor for NPE2009.

Of the 66 hotels listed, 39 agreed to lower their rates. The reduction of 14% represented a $37 per night reduction to $226 from an average room rate of $263. Actual room rates vary with the hotel.
