2009 FPA Safety Conference & Environmental Summit Set

LINTHICUM, MD | The Flexible Packaging Assn.’s 2009 Safety Conference and Environmental Summit will be held Jan. 21-23, 2009, at the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort in St. Petersburg Beach, FL. Visit www.flexpack.or, to register online and view the full event agendas.
The agendas include presentations from industry peers, the US EPA, the US Federal Trade Commission, the US EPA Office of Air and Radiation, and the US Chemical Safety Board. The consecutive events are open to FPA members and non-members. Environmental, health and safety professionals and managers at both the corporate and plant levels are encouraged to attend.
The Safety Conference on January 21 will examine topics and issues critical to the flexible packaging industry, including Combustible Dust, Flexo-Green Chemistry, Property & Fire Protection, Handling Nonconductive Flammable Liquids, Cutting Tools for Flexibles, Operational Safety and Compliance for Cranes, Hoists & Manipulators, Integration of LEAN Sigma Methods into Safety Program, and Extrusion Hazards.
The Environmental Summit January 22-23 will provide insight into Managing Energy Use & Consumption, Design for Sustainability, Green Packaging Claims, Revisions to the Solid Waste Definition, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory Development, REACH Legislation, Nanotechnology in Packaging, SPCC Rule Development, US EPA Priorities & Political Transition, Sustainability: FPA’s Strategic Plan, Implementing Greenhouse Gas Programs, and Product & Packaging Carbon Footprinting.
