Ciba to Close MetalFX Business

BASEL, SWITZERLAND | Ciba Coating has announced that it will be closing its Ciba MetalFX business unit, effective Dec. 19, 2008. The company said the decision was made because “the business does not fit with Ciba Coating Effects core business.” All management, sales, technical, marketing, finance, and administrative staff in the Ciba MFX business can be contacted at normal numbers and e-mail addresses until that time.

Ciba MFX is working with an external technical support consultancy to establish telephone support for the product for twelve months after the business closes. All ongoing contracts will come to a close on December 19. During this period, Ciba MFX will settle all outstanding invoices owed by the business, and will collect all debts owed to the business both during and after this period, the company reports.
