Martin Automatic, Labelmen Machinery Announce 'Relationship'

ROCKFORD, IL -- Martin Automatic, the world's leading manufacturer of automatic unwind, splicing, and rewinding technology for web fed presses, enters a licensing agreement with press manufacturer Labelmen Machinery Co. Ltd of Taiwan at Drupa 2008.

Under the agreement, Labelmen will build Martin's STS automatic splicers and STR turret rewinds for sale on equipment manufactured by Labelmen.

“This marks the first time that Martin Automatic has chosen to partner with another company for the manufacturing of our products,” said Roger Cederholm, President of Martin Automatic Inc.

Martin Automatic VP of sales and marketing David Wright said in an earlier announcement, “This strategic move enables both companies to more effectively bring improved productivity and the benefits of reduced material waste to the narrow web market using the very best available roll changing technology.”

Lo Chin-Shiung, president of Labelmen, commented: “We plan to launch a new Labelmen MN series press, which will have Martin's automatic roll changing equipment fully integrated into it. For our customers, it will be a press that has the highest flexibility and efficiency among all of our existing product line.”
