- Published: April 04, 2008
McHenry, IL | Jessup Mfg. Co.’s Glo Brite photoluminescent films have been certified as complying with the Marine Equipment Directive (MarED) of the European Union for use in low location lighting systems aboard ships.
Jessup is one of only two US companies to have its safety grade products approved for use on board ships for which safety certificates are issued by or on behalf of the 27 European Union member countries, according to the company.
Jessup’s Glo Brite photoluminescent films store ambient light for “glow-in-the-dark” signage, pathway markings and similar applications.
The Glo Brite products were certified to Section A.1/3.40 of MarED. MarED is the coordination group for the Notified Bodies assigned by the European Community Member States to carry out conformity assessment procedures. The European Union was formed to remove the barriers to the free circulation of goods among its members.
