EUROMAP Surveys Converting/Flexo: Data on European Plastics/Rubber Industry Now Available

FRANKFURT, GERMANY—Based on a survey conducted among its member associations in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, EUROMAP reports, for the first time ever, its releasing data on the number of operations, workforce, and production volumes of the European plastics and rubber machinery industry.

"As usual with [our] data," states EUROMAP, "the industry is subdivided into four categories":

• core machinery: pre-processing, converting, and post-processing
• molds and dies
• peripheral equipment
• flexographic printing machines for plastics films

"The countries mentioned represent the heart of the plastics and rubber machinery industry in Europe," reports EUROMAP. "In 2000, its almost 4,000 companies (with a workforce of more than 16,000) contributed to an output of nearly 15 billion Euro."
