Ideal for automotive components manufacturing applications, the solutions combine exemplary air venting with robust protection against liquids, dirt and dust.
Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits for the automotive and engineering-based industries, has expanded its PCS HighProtect range, providing manufacturers additional options for finding ideal Pressure Compensation Seal solutions. Meeting high protection class requirements such as IP4X, IP6K7, and IPX9K, the PCS HighProtect series combine exemplary air venting with robust protection against liquids, dirt and dust.
Pressure Compensation Seals are breathable yet watertight membranes used to vent electronic housings. The membranes ensure effective air circulation and pressure compensation while preventing potential harmful liquids, dust or dirt into housing environments. By employing a minicule ventilation hole imperceptible through its wear-resistant top film, Schreiner ProTech’s PCS HighProtect seals also can function as marking labels while serving their primary protective purpose.
Such combination solutions are becoming increasingly popular: As vehicle systems include more electronic features, manufacturers are seeking durable Pressure Compensation Seals resistant to extreme external influences, including steam jet cleaning. Preference is often given to small, lightweight solutions that simplify production processes and save on warehousing space and shipping costs.
Available in various shapes and sizes, the PCS HighProtect series offers versions spanning several functions, including components marking, under-hood applications like motor production, lifespan management, and charging protection for electric vehicles. The solutions are offered via a modular concept that makes possible a wide variety of combinations per specific customer needs. Among other options, the seals can be round or angular, long or short, and incorporate logos and QR codes. Solutions include:
- DAE High Protect I – Designed for versatile use, this version offers exemplary airflow and high water retention capacity despite its small size.
- DAE High Protect II – A larger HighProtect option for particularly demanding scenarios. An optimized design enables high airflow rates while maintaining a high water retention capacity.
- DAE High Protect III – A combination HighProtect solution that meets requirements for airflow, watertightness and mechanical robustness, and can also be used as an individualized nameplate.
- DAE High Protect IV – A solution for large housings providing exceptionally rapid pressure compensation with strong watertightness.
