SOMA set to showcase the Optima2 10-color flagship flexo press during drupa 2024

SOMA (www.soma-eng.com), a leader in flexographic printing technology, is excited to announce its participation at the upcoming drupa 2024, the world's leading trade show for printing technologies. At this prestigious event, SOMA will be exhibiting the Optima2, its ten-color flagship flexo press that combines proven performance with the latest cutting-edge technology.
Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the Optima2 in action, with two live demonstrations scheduled each day. These demos will not only highlight the press's high-speed capabilities, running very demanding designs at speeds of up to 600 meters per minute, but will also showcase SOMA’s Advanced Bounce Control technology—a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and quality. Furthermore, SOMA will showcase the impressive intelligence and automation built into the press, which facilitates error-free job changeovers—features that enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
In addition to the Optima2 flexo press, SOMA will present its automatic plate mounter, the S-Mount, designed for quick and precise plate mounting, and the PLUTO III.2 slitter rewinder, featuring an integrated waste management system that underscores SOMA’s dedication to sustainability and efficient production.
SOMA is proud to introduce the recently launched Intelligent Printing Unit (IPU), a pioneering solution in flexographic printing. The IPU, designed to integrate seamlessly with SOMA Optima2 flexo printing presses, enables single-pass operations that dramatically increase the efficiency of package print production. This includes the application of various barrier or functional coatings, as well as heat/cold seal capabilities.
