Heidelberg Web Carton Converting Integrates with Heidelberg USA to Strengthen Position in North American Folding Carton Market
- Published: January 16, 2020
Heidelberg Web Carton Converting (HWCC) has fully integrated with Heidelberg USA in effort to expand Heidelberg’s footprint in the North American folding carton segment and provide increased sales and service efficiency for customers. With this transition, HWCC customers will now have access to the product and service portfolios of both companies from a single source. Michael Pfaff, vice president of web carton converting for Heidelberg USA, will lead integration efforts – working closely with Heidelberg USA’s team and existing and potential web carton customers. Customers will retain their existing HWCC sales and service contacts and continue to benefit from the specialist industry expertise, but they will also now have access to the comprehensive know-how of the full Heidelberg team and to the industry’s largest service network.
Heidelberg’s web carton converting portfolio consists of three unique presses – the Intro, ICS and CCS — and FCL diecutter. Whether from roll-to-roll or from roll-to-finished blank, these customized flexo printing presses print, embellish, and die-cut in just one pass. Regardless of application requirements for high volumes or high levels of embellishment, presses are tailored to each customer’s specific needs.
“HWCC has been a presence in North America for decades, previously with the BHS and Gallus nameplates. The integration with Heidelberg USA gives our customers a local contact for sales and service and gives the Heidelberg brand a presence in the web-fed folding carton and paperboard products markets,” said Pfaff.
“Customers’ productivity demands across all segments are continuously increasing,” said Felix Mueller, president of Heidelberg Americas. “This move is a key indicator of our commitment to the folding carton industry and to the growth and support of our customers in this sector. We’re excited to see where this integration can take us in product development and efficiencies for our customers.”
With this integration, experts with Heidelberg’s R&D group in Germany are already well underway on new developments for HWCC products in 2020 and into the future.
