Esko Announces Platemaking Technology

GHENT, BELGIUM | Esko offers CDI Crystal 5080 XPS flexo platemaking technology said to lay the groundwork for full integration and automation of plate imaging and UV exposure. Company says it reduced complexity in the plateroom because it is a coordinated linear process.
The system uses UV LEDs which company says don’t need warm-up time and always emit consistent radiation. A synchronized and optimally controlled UV main and back exposure is said to produce highly consistent digital flexo plates.
Technology adds parallel process to plate imaging for higher throughput, and errors reportedly are reduced by 50%.
