Bobst Wide-Width Press Suited for Many Markets

HEYWOOD, UK | Bobst reports the new 40SIX flexo press for wide webs is capable of printing on film, paper, laminates, and nonwovens, in a wide web tension range. The unit is designed to cater to all industries, including hygiene, food, pet food, detergent, bags, and sacks.

Featuring eight or ten colors, print widths to 2,250 mm (88.6 in.), print repeats to 1,200 mm (47.2 in.), and speeds to 600 mpm (1,968 fpm), the 40SIX models combine high output with premium print quality, even at the highest production speeds, says company. This reportedly increases profits on large-format and high-volume print jobs, and also satisfies print buyers’ demands for short delivery times.

Despite their working widths, the models of the 40SIX Series are capable of printing even very thin substrates, which helps to further increase efficiency by reducing material costs.

For the handling of large-format printing sleeves, intermediate cylinders and anilox rolls, the optional fully automatic smartCHANGE system is available. This is said to not only save labor costs and increase operational safety but also reduce changeover time, increasing the productive time available on the press.
