AIMCAL and SPE to Present Fall Conference

FORT MILL, SC | The Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), Bethel, CT, will collaborate on a fall technical conference in October 2015.
The joint event combines AIMCAL’s Web Coating & Handling Conference (WCHC) with SPE’s FlexPackCon and will be held October 25–28, 2015, at the Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, FL.
The meeting builds on 2014’s successful inaugural combination of the two meetings, which drew 400 attendees and 75 exhibitors. “Attendees enthusiastically embraced the broader scope of the combined event,” says Craig Sheppard, executive director of AIMCAL.
The 2015 program will consist of parallel tracks devoted to Web Coating and Laminating, Vacuum Web Coating, Extrusion Web Coating, Web Handling, Roll-to-Roll Markets, and Flexible Packaging. Potential topics include developments in machinery, materials, packaging designs, enhanced shelf life, and supply chain security.
A call for papers has been issued by both groups, and exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities are available. To participate as a speaker in a WCHC track, please follow the Speaker Guidelines and complete the Call for Papers Submission Form. Both documents can be downloaded from the AIMCAL website. Deadline for submissions is May 15, 2015. Presentations should be directed to technical professional personnel in R&D, manufacturing, and marketing.
Proposals are evaluated according to the following:
• Potential for advancing the manufacturing process
• Innovativeness of the technology and its contribution to the industry
• Value to the technical/production community
