AWA Inkjet Conference Is Coming

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS | AWA Alexander Watson Assoc. (AWA) says the focus of the of AWA Conferences & Events’ Ink Jet and Digital Label/Packaging Print Seminar 2013 will be the benefits and challenges found in the growing applications for digital print in the label and packaging arena. Scheduled for January 29–30, in Scottsdale, AZ, the event is colocated with annual Ink Jet Conference of the Information Management Institute (IMI).

AWA says the program for this established annual seminar that alternates between Europe and the USA represents an opportunity for brand owners, converters, and industry suppliers to gain an in-depth update on the increasingly wide base of available options, from digital offset to UV inkjet, thermal transfer, and EB imaging; the prepress platforms that underlie the print capabilities; paper and film substrates; and inks.

Speakers include experts from many disciplines, and AWA president/CEO Corey M. Reardon will offer a review of the labeling and product decoration markets. PFFC's "On Print" columnist and printing expert Dr. Dene Taylor, president of Specialty Paper & Films, will present at the AWA seminar. His presentation, "Recent Developments in Digital Printing for Labels & Packaging," will cover ink jet, electrophotography, direct thermal, and thermal transfer.
