LECCO, ITALY | OMET reports a record year in 2011, with revenue reaching the highest peak ever and significant improvements and important investments completed. Total revenues in 2011 reached €48 million (63 million US dollars) with a total of 63 machines sold in the OMET Machines Div. The company also enlarged its premises in Lecco with the addition of 3,000 sq m, and the Technology Center in Lecco is being renovated.
“We felt it was time to stabilize and possibly enhance our presence in the global market. For some time we have been preparing to expand internationally and widen our sales and service network,” says Marco Calcagni, sales director of OMET Machines Div. “But we have done more. We have also massively re-engineered our internal organization, reordering spaces and competencies, empowering our strategic sectors [of sales, marketing, R&D, and service], and introducing “lean” management principles in the operations area and in company guidance.”
In Brussels OMET recently exhibited two new presses: the XFlex X2 and XFlex X4, as well as the new 2.0 Vision register control system. OMET will also have a presence at drupa 2012.
