IMDA Reports on 2012 Meeting, 2013 Events

SCOTTSDALE, AZ | The In-Mold Decorating Assn. (IMDA) 2012 annual membership meeting and Sixth annual IMDA Awards presentation ceremony were held at Chicago's McCormick Place during Pack Expo Intl. on October 30, 2012. These events were sponsored by Schober USA, Inland Label, and Berhalter AG, whose generous support was greatly appreciated. Also providing assistance were media sponsors Paper, Film and Foil CONVERTER, Package Design magazine, and Plastics Decorating magazine.

Immediately following the annual meeting, IMDA presented the Awards trophies to the winners of the 2012 IMDA Awards competition.

IMDA reports continued growth with 47 corporate members at the time of the annual meeting. A special membership drive has added an additional five corporate members, bringing the current total to 52. Future initiatives include an in-mold sustainability program, increased presence at trade shows, integration of the ABC's of IML: A Basic Course seminar into IMDA, and linking the IMDA website with the SourceIML website.

IMDA also announces the 2013 edition of the ABC's of IML, with a Basic Course scheduled for March 28, 2013, at the DoubleTree Hotel & Conference Center Chicago North Shore, Skokie, IL. Now offered by IMDA, this seminar is an introductory in-mold labeling (IML) and in-mold decorating (IMD) course designed for those considering entry into IML and IMD markets as well as a refresher course for more experienced current participants in the field. IMDA executive director Ron Schultz will be the course lecturer.
