TLMI Announces Singer Award Winners

MILFORD, OH | The Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) announced the winners of the Eugene Singer Award for Management Excellence at the association's recent Converter Meeting in San Diego, CA. The award recognizes excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of growth and profitability ratios through participation in the TLMI Management Ratio Study.

Nearly 100 TLMI member converters throughout the US and Canada participated in the Ratio Study, though only four companies are awarded the Eugene Singer honor each year. This year, the awards were given to the following companies:

  • Precision Label, Grandville, MI, won in the small company category for the second time.
  • Digital Label Solutions, Yorba Linda, CA, won for the mid-range company category. This is the company's fourth time winning the Eugene Singer Award.
  • The Label Printers, Aurora, IL, won for the medium company category. This is the company’s ninth consecutive year winning the Singer Award.
  • Consolidated Label, Sanford, FL, won for the large company category. This is Consolidated Label's 16th consecutive year winning the Eugene Singer Award.

TLMI president Dan Muenzer says, "I would like to personally congratulate all of this year's Eugene Singer Award winners. The Ratio Study is the envy of many industry associations, and we are so fortunate to have this established peer-benchmarking resource that our members so highly regard. During this year's banquet when we announced the winners, we paid tribute to Eugene Singer, the man who conceptualized and initially created the Ratio Study benchmarks for label converters during his time working for Avery Dennison. Mr. Singer passed away last year at the age of 96. Those in the industry who had the opportunity to work with him say he was a brilliant researcher, and we all owe his memory a debt of gratitude for creating something that has had such a profound and lasting impact on both TLMI, as well as the greater industry."
