Epson, TEKLYNX Partner on GHS Labeling Solution

LONG BEACH, CA | Epson America and TEKLYNX International, developer of barcode labeling software solutions, announce a partnership to offer a turnkey solution for Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) compliant chemical labeling. The solution reportedly leverages decades of experience from both companies to offer color chemical labeling for manufacturing environments of all sizes.

The solution involves the seamless interaction of the TEKLYNX barcode label design software CODESOFT and Epson’s ColorWorks C7500 inkjet on-demand color label printer, made possible with TEKLYNX embedded native printer drivers. The drivers are said to offer many benefits to the users of Epson’s ColorWorks printers, including true WYSIWYG (“What You See Is What You Get”) printing technology, which reportedly results in less wasted label stock and high-quality color labels.

“As GHS-compliant chemical labeling continues to be adopted, the demand for a one-step label printing solution that delivers fast, efficient, and durable color label printing has become increasingly important for companies looking to enhance their workflow and meet labeling concerns for on-demand packaging labels,” says Andrew Moore, product manager, Epson America. “Our strategic partnership with TEKLYNX and its ongoing investment in the development of native printer drivers creates the opportunity for us to offer the most seamless, turnkey solution for on-demand color labeling.”

Epson report that, with the increase of industry standards and government regulations that specifically require the use of color, color label printing continues to grow in importance for manufacturers of all sizes from localized to global manufacturing environments. Color provides additional levels of visual communication by enabling the inclusion of bold safety warnings that catch attention and draw the eye to critical information. By creating native printer drivers for Epson color label printers such as the ColorWorks C7500, the TEKLYNX solution helps chemical manufacturers comply with industry standards and government regulations, such as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), which requires the inclusion of specific pictograms, rendered in color, to help classify hazardous materials. Doug Niemeyer, general manager, TEK LYNX, says, “The partnership between TEKLYNX and Epson offers our shared chemical manufacturing customers the industry’s best overall color labeling solution for GHS compliance, giving our customers peace of mind.”
