Sonoco Benefits From Improved Purging Compound

Depew, Ny | Shuman Plastics sent a sample of its New & Improved Dyna-Purge X thermoplastic purging compound to Donovan Young, pilot plant supervisor at Sonoco Packaging, Hartsville, SC. When Young decided to use the sample, Sonoco had multiple die lines with carbon buildup about 1 in. up in the die.

“When we put in the sample, we could not believe it,” Donovan reported. “We saw more degraded resin come out of our die than ever before — 20 to 30 carbon contaminated pieces were scrubbed and pushed out. The sample worked so well, I called to order more the next day.”
