OMNOVA Solutions Offers Hollow Plastic Pigment

FAIRLAWN, OH | OMNOVA Solutions introduces Lytron HG80 hollow plastic pigment (HPP) for coated paper, paperboard, and specialty applications. This synthetic pigment is said to deliver excellent gloss while improving smoothness, opacity, and brightness in coated free sheet, lightweight coated, technical paper, and paperboard applications.

The optimized particle size and void volume, coupled with a narrow particle size distribution, enable pigment to perform well in even the most demanding coated paper formulations, company says.

Product complies with FDA status 21 CFR 176.170 (components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty food), 21 CFR 176.180 (components of paper and paperboard in contact with dry food), and 21 CFR 175.105 (substances for use only as components of adhesives).
