HERMA Announces Peel-Off Adhesive

FILDERSTADT, GERMANY | HERMA, a specialist in self-adhesive technology, announces peel-off adhesive 42E, a solution for various very different plastic surfaces, some of which are not easy to label.

Product is said to be well suited for transparent thermoplastics, PET, polyethylene foils and bottles, food packaging made from polypropylene and polystyrene, and ABS, which is often used in the automotive and electronics industries as well as in household electronics due to its impact resistance.

Company says labels coated with 42E can be easily peeled off of these surfaces without leaving any residue. Says Dr. Ulli Nägele, HERMA's head of development. “With this adhesive, label printers and users receive a maximum of flexibility, since it can be combined with a wide range of paper and foil materials.”

The adhesive also has the ISEGA certificate for direct food contact on dry, moist, and greasy surfaces, with no restrictions. This means there are no obstacles to its use in the food industry, company says, e.g., in seal labels or special labels for marketing campaigns.
