Bobst Folder/Gluer Brings New Business

CARROLLTON, GA | Printed Specialties Corp. has installed a Bobst Expertfold 110-A2 high-speed folder/gluer for additional capacity and to improve efficiency. President Greg Smith says, “We had a job that took two folding operations. Our customer was concerned about our capacity and turnaround time. The Expertfold has allowed us to take that job from two operations to a single folding operation and run it faster. As a result, we've increased our share of the customer's business from about 10 percent to nearly 70 percent.”

The folder/gluer is capable of running straight line and crash-lock cartons, presentation folders, CD/DVD sleeves, and other solid carton and/or microflute corrugated products at speeds to 1,476 fpm.

Printed Specialities also improved die-cutting operations with the installation of a Bobst SP 103-ER Autoplaten machine. “The die-cutter gave us additional capacity, but with inline blanking, it allows us to eliminate manual blanking on many jobs, providing a quality and efficiency benefit for us and our customers.”
