Containerboard June Operating Rate Up from May

WASHINGTON, DC | The American Forest & Paper Assn. reports that while June 2011 US containerboard production was flat when compared to May 2011, month over month average daily production was up 3.3%. Additionally, containerboard operating rate for June 2011 was up slightly by 0.1 point over June 2010 to 96.9%; however, most encouraging, it gained 3.1 point over May's operating rate.
The report also noted other positive news: Linerboard production has a slight gain over last year, and medium also showed a slight increase over June 2010.
