Pankaboard Upgrades Cartonboard Lines

HELSINKI, FINLAND | Pankaboard reports it is reintroducing its main cartonboard grades PankaBrite and PankaWhite with improved product features and performance. Cartonboard is now said to be bulkier, stronger, optically whiter, and improved in terms of sensory properties. The production of Pankaboard combines sustainable forest management with high ecological and environmental values, company adds.
The thickness of the entire range of PankaBrite (GC2) board has been increased by 30 microns. For PankaWhite (GC1), the increase has been 10 microns. Improved thickness is said to help protect package contents better and guarantee that cartons will stay in better shape.
Development in the quality of the ground-wood pulp has, in addition to the increased bulk level, also enabled quality improvements regarding the visual and surface characteristics of the cartonboard, enabling more consistent surface smoothness and appearance for improved print reproduction in both offset and flexo printing.
