FAIRFIELD, NJ | Unifoil Corp. has released nonlaminated recyclable UniLustre and Holographic UniLustre, sustainable multidimensional media. The proprietary materials are said to be ideal for cosmetic, personal care, beverage, multimedia, and other point-of-sale items' packaging and security enhancement, as well as for printing applications, including brochures, annual reports, magazine covers, books, tags, and promotional items.
The manufacturing process for UniLustre products maintains the look of metallized papers and boards while meeting sustainable packaging standards. Most metallized foil laminations utilize foil thicknesses in the range of 0.0003 inches and are not recyclable&3#8212;the metal thickness in UniLustre products is less than 1% of that, so the products are capable of being recycled.
Nonlaminated UniLustre products easily print with conventional high-speed printing methods. They do not require hot stamping or laminating to achieve metallic or holographic effects. They also offer good dead fold properties, are curl-free, and do not flake. See unifoil.com.
