BST to Intro New Proscan 3000 Web Inspection System at K 2004

ELMHURST, IL, USA—BST International reports at K 2004 it will introduce its new ProScan 3000 ProMark Edition video web-inspection system. Besides the "smart system" functions — like quick zoom, dynamic image update (DIU), and multi-function split screen — the sixth generation of what BST International calls it "high-end" video web-inspection system, the ProScan 3000 has "a number of other innovative functions specifically engineered to save time and make on-press time quality control easier and more efficient than ever before," says the OEM.
BST says standard features on its ProScan 3000 are:
- high resolution 3-chip CCD camera, providing a 127 mm x 101 mm field of view (optional 235 mm x 178 mm)
- 17-inch monitor (optional TFT flat screen)
- newly developed cursor cross for camera navigation, quick zoom, color-to-color comparison, Virtual Repeat, auto constant scan, multi-function picture-in-picture split screen, combi scan, a positional memory with position gallery, and
- OPTIONAL second camera, with multiple dual-camera view modes, back strobe assembly and remote operator control panel
Among the highlights of newly developed features on BST's ProScan 3000:
- Color-to-Color Comparsion (CTC): Can generate a color reference from any position in the print pattern; this then can be compared with the color in any other position. "The simultaneous display of the reference and the live image in split-screen mode enables the printer to see any color variations that occur at a glance," states the manufacturer.
- Combi Scan: Designed to automate the print-inspection process. "[This feature] combines all the desired inspection parameters — programmed positions, auto constant scan routine, and split screen positions — into one, comprehensive continuous inspection loop. This new feature allows for the building of a custom inspection routine for every job, which insures all print is inspected in the most efficient and productive manner."
