PRESS RELEASE
RAVENNA, OH, USA—Americup and Vernon, CA-based Sunset Paper Products Inc. report the two companies have merged, and the new firm is now operating under the new name Sun-America Packaging Group LLC.
A manufacturer of fluted paper cups, loaf liners, and cake liners for the industrial baking and candy industries, Americup is headquartered in Ravenna, OH, and says Sunset's manufacturing operations will be relocated to Ravenna, where 20,000 sq ft of manfacturing space is being added to Americup's existing 48,000-sq-ft plant.
Two California-based warehouses owned by Sunset—a manufacturer and supplier of converted paper packaging to the baking industries through North America, Canada, Mexico, and the UK—will remain in operation in Vernon and San Bernadino, which the newly merged packaging manufacturer says will ensure uninterrupted service to its West Coast customers. In addition, other offsite warehouses in Chicago, IL, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Virgina USA, and in London, England, will continue to operate.
Says Sunny Khan, the new president of Sun-America Packaging, "The combination of these two companies forms a very strong, cohesive base from which to build a world-class packaging company."
Adds Louis Curlee, VP of sales and marketing for the newly formed company, "The expanded product line that Sunset Paper brings is very exciting; Sunset brings 28 years of working knowledge to our group. Sun-America will focus on innovation and new business segments that were not accessible before the merger."
Sun-America will supply both Americup's and Sunset Paper's customers, which include Starbucks, See's Candies, Freed's Bakery, Sara Lee Bakery Group, Godiva Chocolatier, Publix Supermarkets, and Pepperidge Farm.
