Agfa Ships Apogee 3, Renews Enfocus Contract
- Published: March 25, 2002, By PRESS RELEASE
GHENT, BELGIUM—Enfocus Software recently announced the renewal of its contract with Agfa to include Enfocus technology into Agfa's Apogee workflow solutions. Acccording to the co., the agreement paves the way for the integration of the Enfocus Certified PDF technology within the world's leading PDF-based digital workflow solution. Enfocus adds this technology partnership enables Apogee users to include comprehensive PDF preflighting tools together with the unprecedented reliability and predictability from its PDF technology.
Says Peter Camps, Enfocus CEO: "We are extremely pleased with the extension of our partnership. Agfa is an early adopter of Enfocus technology, having embraced [our] preflighting and editing features right from the start into its own prepress workflow solution. We feel privileged to be able to work together with one of the world-leading companies in PDF-based workflow solutions."
Enfocus says this about Agfa's Apogee Series3:
Apogee Series3 expands the capabilities of the award-winning Apogee solution even further. This digital workflow offers automation, control, openness, scalability, and ease of use. It brings new efficiency to the entire operation and helps streamline the flow of jobs—saving time and reducing costs.
Apogee Series3 is a JDF-compliant solution that meets the strict standards for the emerging Job Definition Format (JDF) established by the CIP4 consortium. JDF is a complete, powerful standard that promises to expand automation in the entire process of creating printed materials—from estimating jobs through printing and finishing. Thanks to Agfa's leadership role in the creation of the JDF standard, Apogee Series3 is one of the first workflow solutions to be JDF-compliant. By addressing the full workflow—not just prepress and printing—Apogee Series3 maximizes every opportunity for more streamlined production. It's an open solution that elminates barriers between various groups and offers a high level of automation.
