Hands-On Flexo Seminars & Golf Outing for Education Set for 2011

CHICAGO, IL | DiTrolio Flexographic Inst. (DFI) is kicking off the summer with new dates for the hands-on flexo seminars, encouraging companies to take advantage of the summer by having their employees brush up on their skills. DFI offers from entry level seminars to advance level for flexographic printing.
The Basic Flexo Seminar is three-day class that is designed for beginning press operators, in addition to other individuals who are interested in learning the basic principles and practices of flexography. From start to finish, this seminar reportedly provides participants with an education in the fundamental theories behind the flexographic printing process and exposes them to the hands-on operation of the press.

flexographic printing process and exposes participants to the hands-on operation of a press. Dates: June 15—17 & November 16—18.
• Advanced Flexo SeminarThree-day seminar suited for press operators who already have work experience and know the basics of press operations. Designed to help experienced professionals advance to the next skill level in the production of process work. Dates: July 20—22 & October 12—14.
• Sales/Customer Service SeminarTwo-day seminar is accommodates all industry
professionals, particularly non-production personnel such as sales and customer service representatives. Tailored for those interested in learning the basics of flexographic printing and who want to gain a
working knowledge of the industry. Dates: May 25—26 & November 3—4.
Golf Outing Raises Funds for Scholarships
The Annual DFI Scholarship Drive Golf Outing fundraiser supports the DiTrolio Flexographic Inst. Scholarship Fund. Slated for October 6 at Maple Meadows Golf, Wood Dale, IL, potential individuals or organizations interested in sponsoring or golfing in the event should contact Tom Anderson at 708-343-4334.

The outing will be a Four-Person Best-Ball Peoria Scoring scramble with a shot-gun start, cart, and lunch to follow.
DFI is approved by both the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs, and it was founded to meet the flexographic industry’s need for quality, offsite training to counter the problems of on-the-job training: wasted production and equipment time, wasted raw materials, and inconsistent skill sets. The institute offers industry-specific training seminars for all skill levels and features a state-of-the-art environment where new press operators and seasoned industry professionals alike can gain hands-on exposure to printing and finishing processes.
