PALTO ALTO, CA—The Rochester Institute of Technology's (RIT), Rochester, NY, Printing Applications Laboratory Worldwide Media Center (WWMC) had added a seven-color HP Indigot press ws4050. During an event to dedicate the new equipment, media suppliers from the paper and specialty substrates industries submitted a new round of media for official WWMC certification screening on the HP Indigo press.
Established earlier this year, WWMC evaluates media from HP and leading suppliers for independent, authoritative certification to ensure compatibility and high productivity on HP Indigo presses.
The ws4050 is suited for short to medium runs of full color labels and shrink sleeve packaging. The web-fed press runs up to 6,500 ft. and can be configured with a variety of finishing options and media partners for specific vertical market core applications, including food and beverage, cosmetics, and automotive. The press' substrate selection includes self-adhesive papers, plain, and embossed papers, PE, PET, IOPP, Teslin, vinyl, PVC, metallized media, and PS/OPS (Polyolefin).
