Indigo-Nilpeter Bring Inline Finishing to Digital Label Printing

Labelexpo Europe concluded at the end of last month, but an OEM agreement released at the show is the beginning of a new relationship between Indigo and Nilpeter.

A partnership announced at the Brussels, Belgium, venue, Indigo and Nilpeter have come together to offer a "complete printing and converting solution through one vendor, an alliance that will expand the potential of digital label printing," says Indigo.

With the agreement, Nilpeter's finishing solutions now will be available to Indigo customers. They include an interface unit with web-tension and web-guiding controls; digitally controlled or conventional die-cutting and waste rewind; a UV flexo varnishing unit equipped with cold UV curing; and a laminating unit for cold and UV lamination and varnishing.

"The rapid growth in the labels sector has created fresh opportunities for digital offset color printing," says Indigo chairman/CEO Benny Landa. "Innovative formats and new branding and security features require label printers to have great response and production flexibility. Nilpeter is an ideal partner to work with this market, and together we will contribute to its further evolution."

Nilpeter president Lars Eriksen agrees: "This OEM agreement will deliver the best available technology for label converting. Ultimately, label buyers will see the benefits our systems can deliver: the power and flexibility of digital printing combined with streamlined inline finishing."
