DIDAM, NETHERLANDS | MPS reports the successful sale and installation of a new eight-color EF flexographic press at Stampiton Labels, a new MPS customer based in the UK. The press has been installed very recently.
Established in 1976, Stampiton is the largest dairy label producer in the UK, services the trade markets with stock A4 and fan-folded labels, and provides bespoke labels to the office products, computer, multimedia, and dairy/food markets. With 16 presses available in flexo, UV letterpress, and offset, Stampiton carries out more than 1,300 lines for next day delivery, thanks to its sophisticated warehousing and distribution systems. In addition, Stampiton has its own full in-house design and repro facilities and a unique in-house coating facility for hot-melt and water-based acrylic adhesive laminates.
Located in the heart of the Peak District, Stampiton Labels purchased an eight-color full flexo press with a web width of 520 mm to increase production capacity in its core business area, milk labels. The press is equipped with the MPS “APC Advanced” automation extension package, which includes double servo positioning motors for print sleeves and material thickness settings. Perfect register and waste-reduction performance were key elements for Stampiton Labels in selecting its first MPS press. All of its labels are printed on a wide range of materials, and the press must be able to hold register and die-cut at very high print speeds on these wide ranging substrates.
Nick Tyrer, sales director of MPS Systems UK commented, “We are pleased to receive this new order from a reputable label printer in the UK. Coupled with Stampiton’s in-house coating expertise, their new MPS EF flexo press will further extend their capacity of label production in environments of high-speed dairy bottling lines.”
Stampiton is part of the Klimax Group, a group founded by Klimax to join forces with a number of other labeling and packaging companies to initiate a larger European presence. The Klimax group recently bought three MPS press lines, including the one for Stampiton.
