Superior Printing Ink into Water-Based Flexo

TETERBORO, NJ | Superior Printing Ink Co. is launching a water-based/UV flexographic ink program targeted to the narrow web and label markets. The new product lines are the result of several months of development and testing with the firm’s water-based technical R&D group in Charlotte, NC, and its UV technical group in Teterboro, says George Varughese, Superior’s VP of Product Development.

“Some people are looking to expand or enhance their flexo business, while others may be experiencing problems with their current supplier,” Varughese notes. Superior not only is targeting its existing customer base of offset printers who have flexo presses that print surface or lamination but also primary label printers, Varughese says, adding the company is also working on UV coatings.
