Blown Stretch Film Line To Boost Growth for Sigma

BRIDGEWATER, NJ | Sigma Stretch Film has purchased a three-layer Davis-Standard blown film line for its Shelbyville, KY, facility to support business growth. Planned for a mid-2011 installation, the line is similar to one purchased in 2008. Reduced installation time and cost are expected as they will be prewired and require only primary power drops and communication cables.

Per Nylen, executive VP of Sigma Stretch Film, comments, “We’ve been very pleased with the Davis-Standard line we installed in the Tulsa (Oklahoma) plant in 2009. Davis-Standard has enabled us to advance our machinery technology to support new markets and defend our leading position. They have done a very good job of addressing our needs and we are pleased with the depth of their machinery capabilities in both blown and cast film."

Sigma Stretch Film is a div. of The Sigma Plastics Group, founded in 1978. It claims to continue to be the largest, privately held film extrusion group in the US.
