OMNOVA Solutions Ups Cost for Emulsion Polymers

FAIRLAWN, OH | OMNOVA Solutions’ Specialty Chemicals business has announced a price increase of $0.07/dry lb for all styrene butadiene emulsion polymers and up to 10% for all acrylic, styrene acrylic, and vinyl acrylic emulsion polymers, as well as other textile chemicals. The increase is effective Feb. 14, 2011, for all specialty markets including coatings, tape & adhesives, floor care, graphic arts, nonwovens, textiles, construction, and oilfield chemicals. The company says the increase is necessitated by the continuing escalation in the costs of key raw materials and is in addition to previously announced increases.

This increase does not include ELIOKEM Pliotec, Pliolite or Plioway coatings resins, which were covered in a Jan. 20, 2011, pricing announcement.
