NORTHBROOK, IL | Mamata Machinery recently installed its latest state of the art pouch machine at Diamond Flexible, Northbrook, IL, bringing this newest installation to a total of three at the company. The machine is 32-in. wide and has several capabilities on a single line, including the ability to handle unsupported co-ex films with the same ease as laminates.
Reportedly, the most unique capability of this equipment is to produce recloseable side-gusseted pouches with quad seals and an in-line press-to-close feature or slider zippers. With separate side gusset inserts, the main web can be registered with gussets to have an all-side registered pouch.
This machine can produce several varieties of three-side seal, press-to-close, and stand-up pouches from a single sheet, says the company. With capability to add unwinds at a later date, it can do registered bottom gussets or side gussets for a stand-up pouch or a quad seal pouch. It also is possible to have registration control for up to four separate webs.
In addition, the machine is capable of producing side-gusseted quad seal pouches with K seals in gussets from a laminate or an unsupported coex single web. It also can produce back seam (fin seal or lap seal) pouches from laminates and coex poly structures. Said ideal for applications of pet food, fertilizer bags, agri/produce bags, etc., where inputs can be a lay-flat sheet, folded and formed to make a side-gusseted bag.
With the adjustable double cut facility, it also can run notchless, rounded-corner retort pouches as well as full bleed pouches with adjustable sizes of double cut slit straight from the control panel. No mechanical hassles, reports the company, are involved.
