FTA, SGIA, PIA/GATF Create Sustainable Green Printing Partnership

RONKONKOMA, NY—In an effort to assist the printing community its push for sustainability, the Flexographic Technical Assn. (FTA) has partnered with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Assn. (SGIA) and the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) to form the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP Partnership). The partnership is the result of the request of customers pushing for environmental friendliness and sustainability in the printing industry. The partnership plans to establish sustainable printing criteria and guidance documents on how to implement a program to meet them. In addition, a national registry will be established by the SGP Partnership identifying companies that meet set criteria. The registry will allow printing customers the ability to identify green printers in their area. The national registry will be housed on the SGP Partnership Web site, sgppartnership.org.
