PRESS RELEASE
WĂśRZBURG, GERMANY—The KBA presses exhibited China Print in Beijing, reportedly reflects current investment trends among Chinese sheetfed printers. Following KBA’s first shipment in 2001, the volume of orders for presses such as the Rapida 105 universal four colour B1 40-inch press has grown steadily from year to year.
The market for classic four-colour printing is larger in China than in Europe or North America. Most of the B1 Rapida presses shipped to China now have more than four printing units plus an optional finishing kit.
The Rapida 162a at China Print printed world maps on paper and packaging on board and microflute and featured an option for printing directly on corrugated up to 0.047 inches thick; a nonstop facility at the feeder; a multiple washing system for the plate, blanket and impressions cylinders; automatic plate changers; a nonstop roller facility in the infeed; and various other automation modules. The Rapida 105 universal for the Chinese market reportedly has a higher output, a modified console, and is offered as four- to six-colour versions with optional coater and delivery extension.
