Mica Opens Distribution Center in Singapore

SHELTON, CT | Mica Corporation, a supplier of water-based primers and coatings to the global flexible converting and thermal laminating industries since 1971, announces the opening of a new distribution center in Singapore. The company says the state-of-the-art facility, operated by Pan Asia Logistics, will help better serve its customers in Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim by increasing product inventory and decreasing transit times.

Mica has had an established sales presence in Asia for more than three decades, with existing sales offices and representatives located in India, Indonesia, Philippines, China, and South Korea. The decision to have a warehouse in Singapore was made to support organic growth in Asia-Pacific and to improve supply chain and delivery efficiency in the area.

Technical sales director Robert Hammond says, “The flexible packaging and thermal laminating industries in Asia are thriving. Our new warehouse in Singapore will allow us to offer our growing customer base in China, Thailand, and the surrounding regions shorter lead times and easier access to our products.”

The Singapore warehouse, located at 21 Changi North Way, will stock the company's mature, water-based PEI primers, such as MICA A-131-X and MICA H-760-A, as well as specialty EAA products like MICA G-1124 and MICA M-1164.
