BST North America to Debut Inspection System

MADISON, WI | BST North America reports several new products that will be introduced at Labelexpo Americas 2016, September 13–15, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.

The Powerscope 5000 is the next generation of the company’s narrow web visual inspection system. The new version has a high-resolution 16-Mb camera capable of viewing a print area as large as 100 x 75 mm (4 x
3 in.) and magnifying register marks and other
small print details up to 35x magnification. It also now has programmable positions as a standard feature, a touch control commander, and an optional touch screen interface with a 21-in. touchscreen that uses “gesture” controls.

Company says the Powerscope has a very small camera box for easy installation in the tightest of spaces, and also has a new super-compact electronics chassis to further simplify installation. Both manual and motorized versions are available, and company offers an adaptor bracket to allow mounting of the traverse using existing holes made for previous generation Powerscope systems.

The EagleView is the newest model win the Tubescan 100% inspection product line. Tubescan EagleView has two cameras in a single housing. One camera provides 100% inspection of the material, while the second camera, which is on a moving traverse, simultaneously provides highly magnified images of any area or detail within the print repeat.

Tubescan EagleView models are available for 100% inspection of webs from 10–22 in. (250–550 mm) at running speeds to 820 fpm (250 mpm), and will perform 100% inspection and identify defects as fine as 0.3mm2 (dependent on web width).

Company reports it also will use Labelexpo to demonstrate the many possible uses for its AccuWeb brand WideArray edge technology.
