Container Graphics Files for Perforating Patent

CARY, NC | Container Graphics Corp., (CGC) a manufacturers of printing plates and cutting dies for the corrugated packaging industry, recently filed a patent application for its UltraPerf Rule.
CGC says it created UltraPerf Rule with one goal in mind—to substantially improve perforating with rotary cutting dies. UltraPerf incorporates a unique tooth profile specifically engineered to aid in the release of the corrugated board. It is said to improve the runnability and quality of perforated board products.
According to Jim Smithwick, VP of engineering and manufacturing, and the inventor of UltraPerf Rule, the product reduces corrugated board wrapping and improves dimensional accuracy control in the corrugated converting process which he says are common issues when rotary die-cutting involving standard perf rules.
The product is available in straight and curved rotary formats, in common perforating rule heights, and in perf combinations of 1/2 x ½ in., 3/8 x 3/8 in., and 1/4 x ¼ in.
