Label Summit Latin America Has a Full Agenda

LONDON, UK | The conference program for Label Summit Latin America 2014 is now available from show organizer Tarsus Group. Said to be the continent’s largest dedicated event, Label Summit Latin America will be held for the first time in Colombia at the InterContinental Hotel in Medellín, May 14–15.
Consisting of 17 sessions, the two-day conference program will explore various topics surrounding industry trends, prepress, printing and finishing technologies, brand development, product design, and positioning. Don Nolan, president, Materials Group, Avery Dennison, will deliver the keynote presentation, looking at new developments in printing and how technological developments offer future growth opportunities.
The first day also includes Maria Alexandra Gruesso Sanchez, executive chairman of ANDIGRAF, who will analyze the Andean region’s label market and examine how to encourage economic growth through partnerships, imports, exports and serving foreign markets. Day one will also incorporate a look at sustainability, investing in prepress for value adding applications, and a digital printing panel discussion on selecting the right press and how to integrate a digital press into an existing business model. An Andean printer panel discussion rounds out the day.
Day two will focus on brand development, product design, and positioning as well as harnessing new technologies and innovating for the future. Evelio Mattos, creative director of Design Packaging, will tackle the new realities of label and package design and share his insight through client case study examples such as Chateau Ste Michelle Wines, Barneys New York, and Sephora. Neuromind’s Dr. Henry Castillo will probe the application of “neuromarketing” to label and packaging design and illustrate the impact of design on consumer decisions and how neuroscience can be the master key to entering the mind of the consumer.
The conference program will conclude with a series of short talks covering the latest technologies and applications being developed for the label industry. The agenda will include UV systems vs LED, developments in print inspection, analyzing packaging in contact with food, and delivering in-line spectral color management.
A tabletop exhibition will feature more than 30 leading industry suppliers, including Arclad, Avery Dennison, EFI, Flint Group, Gallus, HP, Mark Andy, MPS, Nilpeter, Omet, RotoMetrics, Sun Chemical, UPM Raflatac, and Xeikon.
