AIMCAL and SPE Come Together for Tech Conference

FORT MILL | The Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) and the Society of Plastics Engineers have agreed to bring AIMCAL’s Web Coating & Handling Conference USA together with SPE’s FlexPackCon technical program to make what is said to be a new, more encompassing attendee experience. The combined event will be held Oct. 19–22, 2014, at the Marriott Grande Dunes Hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC.

“Both meetings have a history of success,” says AIMCAL executive director Craig Sheppard. “In fact, the AIMCAL conference set an attendance record in each of the past three years. The complementary nature of the two programs provides an added benefit to the attendees as well as the industry as a whole.”

“The combined agenda merges FlexPackCon’s new technology coverage across the flexible packaging value chain with AIMCAL’s in-depth focus on roll-to-roll web coating and handling,” says SPE FlexPackCon chair Donna Davis, senior market advisor at ExxonMobil Chemical Company, adding that together they address the broad spectrum from resins to extrusion to converting and packaging.

The enhanced event now includes four session tracks: Web Coating, Vacuum Web Coating, Web Handling, and FlexPackCon. Conference attendees have access to the full range of presentations and activities. Along with other networking opportunities, there will be a two-day tabletop exhibition with approximately 75 companies participating.
